APPRENTICESHIP
PROGRAM
The Sign, Display, Screen Process and Tradeshow Worker Apprenticeship Classifications are all part of this apprenticeship program. The Tradeshow Apprenticeship Program is set to start August 2009 with the Sign and Display Apprenticeship Program to follow within the next 6-12 months. Continuing Education classes are also offered for the journey workers in these trades for more advanced skills and techniques.
Sign and display craftspersons design, construct, paint and erect signage and trade show exhibits (made of metal, vinyl, glass, wood, neon, and plastic) for a wide range of objects and buildings. Apprentices specialize in a particular segment of this varied industry, such as graphic design, fabrication, silk-screening or installation. Apprentices have a wide variety of career choices and learn essential skills such as: blueprint reading, surface preparation, use and care of state-of-the-art equipment, and health and safety regulations.
